District Minister’s License
A District Minister’s License is the next level of licensing after a local minister’s license. A district licensed minister has an expanded sphere of ministry and responsibilities in the church (Manual 532) and is a member of the clergy rather than a lay member of the local church. For this reason, both the process and the requirements for receiving this license differ from what is involved in obtaining a Local Minister's License.
The district has an elected Board of Ministry that provides oversight for ministerial education and assessment for licensing and ordination in the Church of the Nazarene. A “Guide to Ministerial Preparation and Ordination” is available to assist with the process of licensing and ordination.
